In a city known for its restaurants, being named to The Oregonian’s 2026 Reader’s Choice Best Restaurants list is no small feat. This year, Jacqueline earned that distinction—an honor that reflects both the loyalty of its guests and the consistency of its kitchen.
Tucked into Southeast Portland, Jacqueline has built a reputation for thoughtful seafood, bold flavor, and a dining experience that feels at once elevated and welcoming. We’re lucky to have our ceramics along for the ride. Chef-owner Derek Hanson’s menus are driven by seasonality and precision—but also by a sense of play. And on the table, presentation matters.

“We are big fans of Wolf Ceramics.
I think the thing that has really stood out about Wolf is that they are extremely durable. That is very important in a restaurant setting, because they get used so much and they go through intense temperature changes. From the high temp dishwasher, to the oven, to the freezer, we use the plates for everything all the time.
We use ceramics from a lot of producers, but Wolf have become our most used plates because of their durability.
We also get so many compliments on our Wolf ceramics. They are stunning. It is easier to make food look good when they are in beautiful ceramics. We use a lot of black glazed plates and our food really pops on the black backdrop. Can’t say enough good things about the plates. The only problem is that I don’t have more of them.”

Built for the Pace of a Real Kitchen
Restaurant ceramics live a different life than dinnerware at home.
They move fast. They stack high. They’re washed, reheated, chilled, and plated again—sometimes dozens of times in a single service. At Jacqueline, our pieces transition seamlessly from high-temperature dishwashers to ovens to freezers without hesitation.
Jacqueline uses some of both our simple black and white glazed pieces, and the contrast is magic. Bright herbs, glistening seafood, citrus, and sauces—all of it pops against a clean ceramic backdrop.
We absolutely adore going to Jacqueline when we are in town and love everything about the experience, the food, and the vibe. If you haven’t been in a while (or ever), book a table at Jacqueline and see it for yourself.
