We’ve been doing some thinking about our core values. Asking ourselves... What do we care about? What matters most to us? Why do we do what we do? Sure it’s easy to start collecting thoughts, but we've realized it’s much harder to boil them down into just a few words.
Here’s what we came up with...
EMBRACE JOYL
It’s not every person who delights in making the same form again and again, striving for a little more deftness, a more perfect profile, or to finish a mug’s rim just right. But it’s this quality that draws each of us to production work. We hear from every person that works here that they are inspired by the hard work they see in the people around them. We take care to do our jobs well and look out for ways to help others do theirs. We take our craft seriously, and we also preserve a sense of humor and joy, even when things don’t go as planned.
COLLABORATE CURIOUSLY
We approach our day-to-day with curiosity first. We are always learning from one another, asking questions, and working together to solve our ever-evolving array of production challenges.
We believe that taking care of oneself is an act of caring for the entire team, and we advocate for self-care, prioritizing honesty, good communication, and directness in our interactions. Through collaboration and teamwork, our team is nimble and resilient enough to shift and reshape to meet the needs of each team member.
CREATE TO CONNECT
Our ceramics are made to be used every day, to last through family dinners with little ones, and to enrich. meals spent with friends. Taking part in this work inspires us to gather, to celebrate the food that we eat and the people that we share it with. As much as connecting in the studio is an important part of Wolf, we appreciate the many ways we get to step outside of the studio and share our work!
Wolf Ceramics has connected us to so many wonderful people over the years: restaurateurs, potters, friends of friends of friends, and, of course, all of the lovely people we have the pleasure of catching up with every year at our studio sales and pop-ups. We couldn’t do what we do without you!!
We're drawn to the simple beauty and functionality of our work and we value crafting pieces that serve a purpose.
