A Special Night at L’Echelle: Honoring Chef Naomi Pomeroy

A Special Night at L’Echelle: Honoring Chef Naomi Pomeroy

Last week, our team had the chance to enjoy something rare and really special: a night out together, dressed up and gathered around a table—one that happened to be at Portland’s most-anticipated new restaurant, L’Echelle.

L’Echelle officially opens its doors this month, but we were lucky enough to be welcomed in for a preview dinner before opening night. The evening was hosted by the incredibly gracious team behind the restaurant, and it was one of the most memorable meals we’ve shared.

L’Echelle was the dream of Chef Naomi Pomeroy, a visionary chef and longtime collaborator of ours. Last summer, Naomi tragically passed away in an accident while this project was still in the works. Seeing L’Echelle come to life now—with the support and blessing of her family, business partners, and team—is deeply moving. It’s a testament to the care and love she poured into everything she created.

We first worked with Naomi last year on a pop-up concept called Garden Party, which was a preview of her larger vision for L’Echelle. Our ceramics were used for that event, and it was an honor to see her beautiful food plated on our pieces.

While Wolf Ceramics aren’t part of the permanent collection at L’Echelle, we’re excited that Garden Party will return this summer in the space behind the restaurant—and once again feature our work! A new chef will be leading the menu this season, and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the table. Keep an eye out for reservation announcements—this is one you won’t want to miss.

Beyond the stunning food, what made this night so meaningful was simply being together. Though we spend our days side by side in the studio, we don’t often get a chance to step out, share a beautiful meal, and connect outside of our work. We laughed, we toasted, we reminisced—and we felt a little extra proud knowing we’re part of a wider community of creatives, chefs, and craftspeople that make Portland so special.

To the team at L’Echelle: thank you for the warm welcome, the unforgettable meal, and the reminder of why we do what we do.
