We’re back with another recipe from our friend Petra of Native Provisions, who made the incredible feast for our annual Wolf summer dinner.

Alongside her Honeydew Mint Gazpacho, Petra mixed up two fresh, delicious mocktails for the table: a juicy Blackberry Vanilla Botanical Spritz and a bright, citrusy Blood Orange Aperitivo Spritz. Both are refreshing, not-too-sweet, easy to make for a group, and very pretty poured over ice in your favorite glassware.

Make one or make both for a late-summer dinner, afternoon with friends, or whenever you want something fresh and festive in your glass.

Blackberry Vanilla Botanical Spritz

Makes 4–6 drinks

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Figlia Non-Alcoholic Aperitivo
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons honey or cane sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice, about 2 lemons
  • ½ cup white grape juice
  • 1½ cups sparkling water
  • Pinch of sea salt

To Make

Squeeze the citrus and blackberries through a strainer. Mix the strained juice with the aperitivo, honey, vanilla bean paste, white grape juice, sparkling water, and a pinch of sea salt.

Pour over ice and garnish with a fresh blackberry or blackberry flower.

Blood Orange Aperitivo Spritz

Makes 4–6 drinks

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups fresh blood orange juice
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup Lapo’s Aperitivo
  • 1½ cups sparkling water
  • Pinch of sea salt

To Make

Squeeze the citrus and combine the juices with the aperitivo, sparkling water, and a pinch of sea salt.

Pour over ice and garnish with an orange or blood orange slice or twist of peel.

A little shortcut: Swap the blood orange juice and sparkling water for Blood Orange Spindrift. Blood orange purée can also be used in place of fresh juice.

About the Aperitivos

Petra used non-alcoholic aperitivos from Figlia and Lapo’s as the botanical base for these drinks. Both are smaller producers making complex, flavorful alternatives to traditional aperitifs that make it especially easy to build a really good zero-proof cocktail at home. Figlia is also a women-owned brand, which we love.

Thank you, Petra, for keeping our glasses (and plates!) very happily full. 🤍
